5 months to the day since I said I'd rectify my prior JM injustice...

    Muhahahah!!

    Jazzmaster
    That's nice.

I thought so. It'll need a little fettling over the coming weeks but it's really good, and mostly importantly, very pretty.

My Roadworn bought a few months ago, never got round to posting about it! Stuck a Staytrem arm and bridge on it, swapped out the top plate of the mexican trem for an older AVRI unit and a gold pickguard from a Squier Mascis I was given.

^ That's a stunner! I'm not the biggest burst fan in the world, but they do look great on Fender Offsets, and especially with the anodised scratchplate.

Thanks! I really do love the anodised pickguards on Jazzmasters, would have loved it if they had used the same style of burst as the 65's but it's definitely grown on me.

2007 MIJ Jazzmaster with Staytrem bridge, AVRI pickups and 500M CTS pots (and PIO cap and cloth wiring but I reckon that makes fuck all difference!)

@Bucket how is the squire? I keep getting a JM itch, but can't justify the AVRI price, so keep thinking of this...

It's good! I think for my personal tastes, the Mascis might have been a better bet playability-wise, but the VM is sweet too, after the addition of a Staytrem. The pickups sound so good I haven't even bothered changing them. Definitely a good budget solution.

Big love for the gold guard, that combined with the burst makes for one of the best looks for a JM.

How are you finding the 500k pots @jonnygreentrees? I'm tempted to go down that route myself.

@TTBZ looks great! I'm also building a telemaster (slowly - had the body and neck about a year so far and all I've got round to is oiling the neck!). Can I ask where you got the pickguard?

    Sorry for the thread hijack...

The pickguard was made by the same guy who built the body, John Manuel as recommended by others on this forum - I could pm you his email address if you wanted to get in touch with him?

@bean7 astounding taste. I always forget about the sy jazzmasters, and when i see one, i instantly want one. Plus, having a wooden bodied egc500 is pretty sweet too

  • Necro-bump!

Here’s my recently acquired TVL model - my first JM! I’m in love with the neck pickup, but the bridge isn’t working for me - what do y’all use to fatten these up somewhat? JM90s? WRHBs?
