Looks fantastic - did you get this from Doug at Coda?
    Thanks.

No. Although the reason I bought this was that I had been looking at Les Pauls for about 3 years in various shops and never liked the feel or sound of any of them. I tried the red Orca that they've got at Coda and knew that this was it. Previous experience has told me that when you finally find what you're looking for and you've been searching for months/years then go for it.

Both orcas coda have in at the min both belonged to me, the red orca and my green orca are proberly the best guitars I have owned. I sold both to buy a Tom Bartlett, it tool a lot to sell both to fund one.

@TTony - We might need to get his address and half-inch this!
What makes you think I'd be taking you along @thisisguitar ??

If it's anything like the one you had, it's stunning.  Wow.
Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.

    Outstanding.

@thisisguitar demo'd the GuitarGuitar one for us at the guitar show through a Friedman and it was simply stunning.
    Red ones are better.

Sweet! But what's with the dolphins
I assume they're killer whales. I've heard they don't do them any more.
They don't do them for US-ordered/destined guitars because of a trademark disagreement. They are fair game for the rest of the world though apparently (unless something has changed quite recently).

tis very pretty.  Where do these sit tonally vs a lester?

I've yet to get the Les Paul GAS in size but I do think a visit to Andertons might be in the offing.  I'd have to dig out alll my old man licks to look the part though.  Or Jazz.

Very different, more like a similar spec'd PRS.
To me they are elegant, refined and very well built, not better or worse to a Lester but different.

Does that mean they were better than the Tom Bartlet ?

Sorry I meant as in brand of guitar, the Bartlett I own imo is the best single guitar I have ever played.

Most people say they don't sound like a les paul and often say a tele. I'm not sure where that's coming from though.

This one has got the haussler 1959 pickups in it and it's hard to put my finger on it. It's worth saying that I don't like the sound of the les pauls I've played and neither do I like the sound of PRS guitars (although I quite liked the 408). I tried the orca in coda's back to back with a prs dgt and this was no contest.

In general I prefer rich and organic sounding guitars.

I'm rambling, I can't stand all those adjectives about sound that don't mean that much...

@allen not sure where other people get the tele comments from...
But we all have our own ears :)
I have had 3 Orca '59s with the Haussel pickups, the lemon burst that coda had a week or two ago that went in a few days with the Brazilian board used to be mine and that is the one I kept the longest.
I have liked every orca I have played, in fact not played a bad one and liked 3 of them enough to buy them.
However, I have disliked dozens of Les Pauls that I have played over the years, far more than I have liked, in fact the bad ones were really bad, but found 4 I love and won't part with.
Always comes down to personal taste, but no question Huber makes more consistent guitars to Gibson.
In terms of PRS the DGT is no comparison (had one of those as well) to a Huber, however a private stock single cut with the same 25inch scale length, is to me very similar.
