    What's the beef with Tony? I bought an amp from him a couple of years back and seemed a really nice bloke.

    It amazes me how unwilling people can be to help themselves sell something. I had a lovely chap drive all the way from Brighton to buy an amp of mine after discussions around my Gumtree ad. Ended up doing videos for him and taking more photos as I was interested in selling it and he was very polite in his questions.

    Tony Mackenzie really upset the Fractal gang and tbh it was hilarious :) especially as his comment was very well justified. I've had good deals on Gumtree but I agree that some sellers are either unhelpful or delusional on prices

    I said several times, and you only want to DICTATE what YOU want as a response.

You blew your opportunities and I had warned you.

    So go to a car boot sale and pray you can pick one of these rare VOX amps up LOL, in your wildest dreams you will never own one of these or appreciate your blowing a chance for it . What an idiot !!!

    You never know he may have a super rare one of a kind prototype Vox that's the holy grail of amps that we would all scramble over each other to throw many thousands of pounds at him.

    He may just be a very unreasonable man with a bizarre approach to selling things.

    Is he still asking for £250 to secure the amp before discussing a final price? Because that's just odd.

    I messaged him about 10 minutes ago, and he responded asking me what I was offering (without answering my questions). I went to respond to his message, and the page came up saying that the sellers security settings didn't allow me to contact them via preloved...even though I just did...did he change them after asking me a question?

    Perhaps, if he's after swaps, I might be able to interest him in my rare Roland Cube 40XL 200W model. I've got a grainy B&W photo of something that may (or may not) be the actual amp in question. But trust me, I know Roland amps and you're all utter cockwombles if you think you know better, and believe this to be anything other than the ultra rare 200W version.

    That's it. Don't want to discuss it further.

    What's ridiculous is that if he'd described it honestly he'd probably have sold it by now, even at a fairly high price - but he's running the risk that sooner or later, high-powered also-ran valve amps like this are going to drop in value rather than go up. Very few people want heavy dinosaurs that don't sound like classic vintage models as it is already...
