I caught a bit of them on the telly the other night on a 'Download' show from last year. Sounded pretty good to me.

A quick google suggests 11 albums - does anyone recommend one in particular?

Ditto - thought they were bleeding fantastic.  Synchronicity !

Listened to a load of YouTube yesterday - equally full of goodness

Would like some album recommendations too.
Imagine something sharp and witty here ......

Try Robot Hive/Exodus and Blast Tyrant for starters.  Or Slow Hole To China.

One of the worst bands ever imho. I just can't stand those vocals.

I just recently started listening at the behest of a friend, Psychic warfare is great, Earth rocker slightly less so, the older albums seem expensive / hard to get at the moment so i haven't gone beyond their last two. Earth rocker put me off a bit tbh.

    Great drummer though!!

One of my favourite bands and my second favourite lyricist after Maynard.

Start with Blast Tyrant, Robot Hive/Exodus, Earth Rocker, Psychic Warfare.

I love everything to varying degrees- even Pure Rock Fury and the early 'Helmet-esque' stuff.
'What would a Wookie do?' is probably the best song title of all time.

No, Guild Of Mute Assassins is the best song title - and the best song - of all time.   :)

But I agree, it's all great.  Also the side projects like the Bakerton Group and the Company Band.

I'm fairly new to them myself---Blast Tyrant is great, I also love their first record which is just called "Clutch" I think.

The self-titled is the second album, first is Transnational Speedway League.

    Sorry, I'm a Clutch nerd.

    Cool, no worries.

They're one of these bands who I've been aware of for years---lots of my mates are into them---but I only bought some of their records myself recently. So I've heard loads of their stuff at parties etc but almost no idea of what albums etc.

Anyway, in any case "Clutch" and "Blast Tyrant" are both phenomenal.

I've just realised I've been buying Clutch albums for close to 20 years.  Gosh, that went quickly.  And I still think of them as one of my "new" bands...

100% agree. Twp of my favourite CDs by any band. I really only got into Clutch in the past year or so, but they really are superb and these two albums are their best in my view. The Blast Tyrant double CD have both seen endless playing in my car and on my phone and Psychic Warfare (the latest one) is brilliant too and it's still on rotation after a few months. Highly recommend both of these if you liked what you've seen already.

I love the first half of Psychic Warfare- some of their best songs.
Last half- Doom Saloon onwards- I can take or leave.

It is a funny album for me.
There are a lot of great songs but I never really listen to it.
It is more polished than a lot of the others and I like Clutch a bit rough around the edges.

Thanks for this thread by the way - I've uncovered a few more albums I've not heard yet. I can see me ordering a few more!

It was the Download TV thing that first brought them to my attention.

I'm not a massive fan but that drummer is a bit good, live.

Just ordered Robot Hive / Exodus... couldn't stream it so it's a rare unlistened punt... at £13.50 too.  ;)
