I've got it on iPlayer at the moment. I don't mind it too much. Give it time, they'll find theor feet and put their own mark on it.

Canned audience laughter in one studio piece. Whole thing came off as very contrived & awkward. I'm hoping they find their feet & improve quickly.

It's baffling. 

I can't understand why they haven't taken the opportunity to change the format at all. 

Even before Clarkson et al buggered off the format was very tired. 

The studio bits were very poor. There seemed to be a really big problem with the sound and Chris Evans just kept shouting. I think he was clearly shitting himself so maybe he will get better, but he didn't sound convincing reviewing the Dodge Viper. 

It should also have been clear that without the established camaraderie the road trip sections don't really work.

To focus on the positive Sabine was good and Le Blanc's bit in the off roader was entertaining. Hopefully they will iterate and improve as the series goes, but without some big changes it's going to drop ratings like a stone.

LeBlanc was quite funny. Evans shouted too much. @chalky, I'm not sure it was such a big stretch to suggest it wasn't going to be as good.

I really didn't see it coming that he was Luke's father but then looking back quite a few events foreshadowed it with the benefit of hindsight. I reckon this will set the bar for plot Twists for some years to come. Considering I didn't even like the original series I'm quite impressed.
