I'm going to play safe and stick with just my Daniel O'Donnell sleeve.

Tattoos are awesome and a band tattoo could be a great thing if it means something to you.

I'm still regretting that Rolf Harris tattoo :(
Yeah, the Gary Glitter one I had done on my right buttock is a constant source of embarrassment these days!
You could fix it to read "Gory Shitter" instead

Stop wearing the chaps and it'll be fine.
Shot through the heart, and you’re to blame, you give love a bad name. Not to mention archery tuition.

The lost prohets effect would stop me.  A mate of mine had the jamiroquai sillhouette on his arm despite my warnings.
Do Jamiroquai suffer from the Lostprophets effect?  I know Jay Kay's an utter tool but he's no Ian Watkins (as far as I know).
No but they could was my warning when he had it done.  Gary Glitter, Ian Watkins, Rolf Harris, Tiger Woods etc etc etc there is enough evidence to suggest permanently inking yourself with a brand/image beyond your control is folly.
How do you feel about people who get serial killers tattooed on themselves?

    That’s a real thing.

I can’t understand it all...apparently it’s not to glorify or celebrate them.

My first tattoo was a Stratocaster, wish I’d got a telecaster instead.

in other news, I work with a guy who ended up in A&E with a dislocated jaw trying the Jaffa Cake challenge.

I have a couple of music-related tattoos, but then I have so many other shit tattoos they all kind of compliment themselves in some kind of shit tattoo smorgasbord that is my bodily canvas. They are all the most non-Slash’s Snakepit type tattoos ever. I’m not Def Leppard baby, I’m the fucking hearing aid.

I have the "M dot" but just couldn't accept the corporate thing so had an M and a dot, ok, the pretentious thing...
I'm not a tattoo guy, they don't really suit me I don't think - but if I somehow make it across the finish line in one piece in Copenhagen this August, I'm 100% getting an M-Dot tattoo to mark the occasion. This is a once in a lifetime goal for me and not something I plan on ever doing again (I might do Outlaw next year though haha), and I'm giving up the next 6 months of my life to prepare my body for it, so I don't care how pretentious people think it is. It's happening.

I'll probably become one of those annoying bell ends who mentions ALL THE FUCKING TIME that they've completed an Ironman. Second only to Vegans and Crossfit wankers in the "people who are annoying AF" stakes. ;)
Hah! Once in a lifetime. I said that too, even whilst in the recovery tent. By the next day it was "possibly do another", by the tuesday I'd mentally signed up for the next one.
This is my concern (and my wife's probably). I'll have to give it a few years probably, as I can't expect my wife to become a single parent for 6 months of every year. Plus, £500 a pop isn't financially viable haha.

I remember when I completed my first sprint and thought "how the fuck do people do an Ironman? it's impossible!"

I have one, from 20 odd years ago. Given a choice, I'd lose it. So common, and pretty boring really, tattoos are just another thing that lines you up as the same as everyone else IMO. I think it's more unique or individual to have clean skin.

Now I am stuck with an old black thing on my arm, that is probably too dyed in to remove properly so my best option is to have it redone and updated! At least if I'm marked, it may as well be as good as it can be.

The thing that I find totally dumb is getting your own surname tattooed on you- Conor McGregor for instance.
    Exactly how forgetful is he?

God, no! I don't like needles, I'm not exactly keen on pain, I can't think of anything I like enough that I'd want it permanently etched into my skin and I've never seen a tattoo that I thought looked good.

If I'm honest, I hate the f**kin' things.
Is that a yes or a no, then?

Yeah, what is that about? A chap I know once had his full name done on his forearm inside, in full on Roman lettering. I thought the same. It's really weird. Why?

My attitude to having one myself is that fashions change. I'm old enough to remember lots of grown men still walking about with DA haircuts, Taking that to it's next level would have me wearing paisley dog collar shirts with matching kipper ties with my baggies/flares. Who wants to look that out of fashion down the line? Fancy having the Barclay James Harvest logo now?
I have by the way managed to update my wardrobe, well I got fat and had to really! ;-)
I can sort of understand the very personal tatts like your childrens birthday or mums premature death, that kind of thing. My memory of people I care about is pretty good to be honest. But the fashion thing is going to look stupid if history has anything to teach us.
Each to his own, but just not for me.

I think tattoos can be as interesting as the person that choses them, take an image off the wall or Google and you have a boring tattoo, let a good tattooist draw your ideas for you and you have unique and personal work or art
