How many dirt pedals live on your pedalboard fulltime?

I've got it down to 3! But that's also with a clean boost I recently got..but that's not a dirt pedal really more a dirt pedal helpererer right. Not sure if it won't go back up to around 5 though....these kind of pedals are the most fun. Currently I gotz a Boss OD-3 and a Dano TOD mk1 as my 2 overdrives - most often one is on for my rock rhythm tone and then I stomp the other for my lead boost - to give extra volume AND gain. But sometimes I just use my Wampler Pinnacle deluxe and use my XP booster boost to ramp the volume for solos or even one of my 2 ODs mentioned above, Love the sounds they give me and controlled feedback is dead easy to get at will.

so me - Boss OD-3, Dano TOD and Wampler Pinnacle.....Yours ?

Way Huge Pork Loin and Boss OD-2.
If I need more gain (rare) I'll add the Fat Sandwich.

I'm pretty light on pedal use but  my go to dirts aside from amp gain are Bad Monkey and Boss DS-2

Four - although they're all very different and for different jobs.

ZVex Fuzz Factory - 'lead' fuzz/synthy weirdness
Frantone Cream Puff - 'rhythm' fuzz/distortion
    Boss DF-2 - 'lead' distortion/overdrive
Mesa Flux Drive - 'alternative amp channel'

2 Klon KTR and Thorpe Gunshot. Tubescreamer keeps coming and going, but don't really need it - same with Spark booster. Fancy a Keeley Montery

    Four:
Fulltone 70' fuzz for Jack White riffs
Skreddy Lunar module for fat fuzz leads
Zendrive clone for a fatter TS rythyms
Blackstone mosfet; orange channel for light drive or cutting drive with the zendrive into it and its red channel alone for super smooth leads & crunch

  • I've got a Dr Scientist Frazz Dazzler, a JHS Kilt and a Thorpyfx Warthog. Running after a Dr S Cleanness, it's incredibly versatile.

I got the nano Big Muff (same sound in a smaller box) but still haven't found a use for it...I need to try it some more. Maybe it'll work betterer with my SSS Strat ? Gilmour sounds great with it but my usual thoughts when I've tried it are "yuck turn that off!" Much prefer the RAT at least that cuts through without any help from other pedals..but I digress!

Do you have a klon either side of the gunshot? Or both before or after?

    Far too many.

    Akai Fuzz
    Naga Viper self build clone
    Lumpy's Lemon Drop
    Lumpy's Liquid Lead
    Klone
    EHX Glove
    Vox Valvetone

Plus, there's a Fat Furry Freak fuzz and a Mk2 Clonebender sitting off the board as an Akai substitute, a Crispy Cream Treble Booster as a Naga alternative and a Little Bear RT2 awaiting installation.

  • Four - Timmy clone for light grit (mainly chords), Bearfoot Honeybee for when I need to play something crunchy (rarely), Rockett Archer for clean boost and a mental homemade silicon fuzz for when I want to be noisy

  • I've got a df-2, blue monster and the fuzz ball - which is two muffs and a super hard on in one box.

So sort of 5 or three.

Im not in anyway referring to the Klon as a dirt pedal, it gives me no dirt. Isn't that what was asked?

Depends what you class as dirt.

I've got a Visual Sound Route 66 for tubescreamer-like duties, a Marshall Guv'nor 2 for more full on distortion and big muff clone (died recently after a wet, outdoor gig so needs replacing) for when the guv'nor is just too polite.

I also have a spark boost at the start of the chain to push any of the above a little harder but doesn't really provide any dirt on it's own and a Marshall Blues Breaker on boost mode in the loop for extra volume.
