How Odd! i thought I replied here but no posting shows.

Anyway, I have spoken to Webby who will do the drumming session himself or he has a couple of suitable alternatives if he gets called to a paying gig.

    So drummist secured.

Oh so size is important? You didn't say that last night!  :))

I'll tell him to bring his jam sesh flats then, he'll' still be fekkin loud no doubt.

  • @ESBlonde @TTony He's ALWAYS "fekkin' loud" as you so aptly put it. Remember the size of the "playing area" in the Magpie. I guess we'll put him in there with a little backline gear. He can turn up whenever is convenient, I guess the jamming will start when we've all got fed up with ogling kit and yakking about it. I don't mind standing him a pint & munchies.

Plenty of room outside for him though ... ;)

  • I'm game. I could give out some of my fave chord progressions to play around with as well if you like, including the one I used on Fretboard Task 2 ...

I'm happy to sit and strum through chord progressions whilst the glory boys take the widdling spotlight ...

I'll even practice beforehand if you tell me what they are ...

  • |A-|F|D-|G|E-|A-|D-|G| ad nauseam use 4/4 or 12/8 time sigs

    |D-|A|F|C|G-|D-|Bb|A| likewise ad nauseam use 3/2 or 12/8 time sigs (this one is from GF Handel's Sarabande in D minor)

  • There's always the Never Let Go (Camel) progression: |E-|C|B-|C|
and the usual Dorian thing |A-|D| which I often like in a latin/Santana-esque kind of feel

  • Various flavours of DBAD

If 'B' in Germany is 'Bb' (so that 'B natural' can be 'H') then

    D- Bb A D- = D harmonic minor
    D- Bb A- D- = D aeolian
    D- Bb A-7-5 D- = D phrygian

If the 'B' is an English 'B' then:

    D B- A D = D major or D lydian
    D- B-7-5 A- D- = D dorian
    D B- A- D = D mixolydian
    D-7-5 Bb Ab D-7-5 = D locrian

and I guess you could muck about with other scales too (hope I've got these right, just thought of mucking about with it this way)
