Richard Burton / Anthony Hopkins for their rich Welsh loveliness.

Thinking along similar lines, Ray Smith (who played Chief Supt Spikings in Dempsey & Makepeace and was the father of Pepsi Tate of Tigertailz) had a good voice.  My memory may be playing tricks, but when I was a little kid I used to watch an animated series of bible stories called In The Beginning and I'm sure he did the voiceover although I can't find any evidence of it.

Also he's not an actor, but I love those prose poems Eddie Butler does for BBC Sport occasionally.  Another great voice.

  • Scatman Crowthers had a great voice, acting or singing (also to name most difficult to get past autocorrect!).

More a presenter than an actor, but the voice I could listen to anytime is Mariella Frostrup's....for obvious reasons.

Also surprisingly not mentioned so far… Patrick McGoohan

John Alderton. Anyone that can do Naughty Norman Price, Bella Lasagne and Elvis Cridlington is a genius.

I have a soft spot for Bernard Cribbins too.

He did a few Columbo episodes too, always thought he was a good actor. It's that natural Sheffield Talent.

  • Heard Iggy Pop talking on the radio a while back and his voice sounded awesome. The epitome of whiskey cured.
James Earl Jones and Morgan Freeman have been mentioned already, I'd also like to add Stephen Fry.

Not an actor per se, but the best voice of all time has to be Mr Zappa!

Yes indeed @littlegreenman ;, especially after that guy pushed him off stage and it made his voice drop lower as a result of his injuries. Beefheart also had an amazingly rich low voice, could listen to him talk all day.
