Some people are buying it clearly, but WHO?
PA Hire and Event Management
Oh and just to make the circle complete, thread on TGP saying that Devi Ever has bought the name back from Dwarf Craft.
Rejoice one and all.
heh, I was discussing this in PM the other day.
How he is still in business I don't know. Remember Ken from Freekish Blues? He lost everything and was nowhere near as bad as Mason.
The unedited article was pretty cringeworthy and the interviewer dropped this classic line:
It's as if he was suggesting that good old Mason uses the same manufacturer and the military so you can trust him. God bless America.
So much pedal drama in the world, it's hard to keep up...
I read the article, i'm not happy for vertex
but, I am happy for his customers who are buying what they want from him, as gear makes the guitar world go around.
What may be important (and obvious) to some, isn't to others I guess
Also, where the feck did he get all that money from for the redemptions?
Well Reverb have just lost this customer. Running a puff piece on a self-confessed liar and conman is not what I expect from a "community of musicians" (Reverb's words, not mine). The article doesn't even come close to the full truth of the Vertex scams.
Maybe @iain.reverb can attempt to justify this horror show.
they own Reverb.
Coincidence I'm sure
yes and no
yes fair play, but he only did it to avoid lawsuits imo. It was the easier option
I do think it will help him sleep better at night now though
Yeah he was backed into a corner on that one for sure so he was.
A Chappers recommendation
I personally think that Mason did not get an easy ride in the interview. The article in question has since been revised from the original to give a little more background detail with regards to the fraud(s) perpetrated. I don't think that the article was puffery in any way and I think Mason was tasked to answer some pretty tough questions. I saw the interview like yourselves for the first time on Sunday and I knew that this was going to open an enormous can of worms.
I found the interview really interesting and I'm still trying to figure out. Is Mason a guy who deserves a chance at redemption, or is he a total conman who will never learn ?
Would I ever personally buy a vertex product ? The answer has to be no.
