I listen to Nicky Horne whenever i can find him on the radio and the 'New Music' he plays i always like a lot of.
I would hope our stuff would get airplay on a Rock Show of some description.
Of the moment right now, i hope (somewhat in vain but still, got to try.....) we could stand alongside alter bridge, royal blood and rival sons in terms of songwriting and originality. I do not mean for one minute we're that talented we're just not, but if our songs got airplay on the same show and sold in reasonable numbers and we could be proud of being in the same kind of camp as those guys, it would be dreams realised for all of us. Even at a low level, to be invited to play at a festival on a large bill that included those names is our idea of stardom and fame. It's far more about making the music accessible and enjoyable for people so a festival gig would be amazing. The rest of what we're concentrating on is writing and recording both the album and lots of live sessions which we'll use on our social media to (Hopefully) Generate some interest in us as a band. Where we go from there is totally dependent on how well we do up to that point and it feels stupid even trying to plan *that* far ahead but it's all just sketches right now and can be altered to suit as we go i suppose. It's the direction we're going in from the point we started at and although it's not guaranteed, it seems interesting so far and as we're not planning on ruining peoples evening in pubs, i think we stand a fair chance of doing ok, an ok chance of doing well and a fair-to-middlin' chance of doing really well. I'm working on adjusting that balance by trying to nail down every detail about the band and set up our own studio to do all this in.
If i get a good name set up now, it will be much easier to move the band forward as we go, with a decent viable and secured name for us to work under.
We're determined to try but we're very ready to be let down and get nowhere so it won't come as a total surprise if that happens but if it does work and the music works and is successful, it will have been at least worth doing well.
If we have any kind of direction, that's it. There's no image to speak of except (We hope) the music itself. Taking inspiration from some of the worlds top bands and ruining whatever the message is supposed to be, we're doing our best to make the music something original and hopefully with some longevity.
or i like where it leads...
Is there a way of saying that a little more subtly? A little less obviously i mean?
I just got 'Cocolalla'.
Black Halo
I guess I can't do subtle. If my stupid brain would let me in on how it comes up with this guff I might be able to figure out something more subtle. My mind has a mind of its own, that's more of an album title.......

Cocolalla's debut album is called 'Vagaries of the Crowd'!
Tarnished Nimbus
Besmirched Mandorla
Wayward Gloriole
Denigrated Aureola
etc etc
Which reminds me of one I meant to suggest a while back..
Bundle Of Sticks
written in that bundle-of-sticks font so beloved of current metal bands.
I like the idea of using the library but i'm aware that i have a library at my fingertips right now, it's just knowing where to look?
History.
I'm going back in time.
I may be some,.......er,...time.
Skeleton Weed - a type of plant
and
Drasteria Graphica - a type of Moth
I might be remembering that wrong.
I will give that a go as well.
Then go back later and edit and cull and so on.
