Kettle Leads

What's Hot

Left both behind at a gig last Saturday night. One for my amp, one for my Voodoo 4x4.

Does it matter which brand or spec I buy? Wanting to buy pretty long if I can for the amp as we jam in a decent sized venue.

They are all the same, don't bother buying an expensive one.

    Marlins it is!

I presume that the length doesn't cause any problems?

You can use a very long cable for AC power and not have any issue.
    Same with speaker cable.

Unbalanced instrument cable is the one you want to be careful with in terms of length.

The cheapest chinese one's are made of a harder material that doesn't grip as well as a good quality softer one. Still unlikely to fall out though unless used on a bass amp.
I recently chucked away about 20 kettle leads as you inherit too many in the repair business.

Just make sure it's not literally a kettle lead, some plastic kettles used to use 2-core, I don't know if that's still the case.

I'm pretty sure these don't have the third hole in the plug, so they won't physically go into the socket. I have one like that on my workshop vacuum cleaner too.

Just make sure the cables are absolutely straight and raised about an inch above the ground by resting them on acoustically tuned bamboo blocks.

That is only an issue with digital devices, because they run on binary.
The 0's are fine but the 1's have a little hook on them- like this:

The 1's can easily get caught up if the cable isn't straight enough.
And as we all should know by now the real information is contained in the 1's- the 0's don't mean anything.

I checked out the cable link good grief! And I thought us guitarists were gullible.

You sound like you know what you are talking about. Is the lower slot to break up resonance?

The lower slot damps micro-vibrations which can collapse the crystalline quantum states of the music, resulting in it becoming deterministic, lacking in free harmonics and thus unexciting to the ear.

He will do one for you but you need to provide a black label MIJ toenail with your order.
