I guess if we still had a fishing industry that didn't have to throw thousands of tons away because they reach EU quota's, that wouldn't have been such a problem.

The fishing issue is a big problem with the EU. It's probably true that without quotas there would be overfishing to the point of extinction and no fish or fishing industry, but the way the quotas are decided, allocated and operated is now at best questionable and at worst actively counterproductive when the result is dumping of fish that have been caught and which are now dead anyway.

It isn't free market economics if that is what you mean

Of course as ICBM says, artificial controls can be a good thing. Laissez faire capitalism is nearly as bad as proper socialism, it is about getting the sweet-spot which is at neither extreme.

lest we forget, all of these price rises etc are going to make life very hard for quite a lot of people who dont have much money at all, personally i have given up caring either way about brexit, but there can not be much doubt about the size of the upheaval coming. Within that you can be very certain that it will be the "little" people who feel the brunt of it

Well I have no intention of now returning the UK. We have been screwed over with the collapse in the value of the pound and I'm not sure I want to live in such a divided and increasingly openly racist country (it is starting to make the French look tolerant!)

I'm also sure that no one cares that the public divisions and attacks are there for the rest of the world to see and it does very little for the perception and reputation of the British.

I will look on with interest.

Given that I'm an individual, I don't give a pewp about the perception and reputation of the British.

Rich people get their food delivered by Waitrose this will not be on the radar and they voted remain.

Not sure why you are looking on with interest if you have no intention of returning. But in the real world, we are still growing faster than the rest of the EU. Not sure where you live now, but I would still call the UK one of the most tolerant societies I have ever lived in. Certainly a world apart from France and large swathes of the EU.
