What are you reading at the moment?

Working my way through a bunch of submarine based thrillers by Patrick Robinson.

Always been fascinated by submarines. Never been anywhere near one but Robinson seems to know what he's talking about. Enough for a gripping yarn anyway.

my wife has read it as has my sis and a few of my friends and they rave about, as do i. Very enjoyable so far

I liked it a lot.

Very funny. But I wouldn't give it as a pressie to a UKIP supporter.  Unless I really disliked them.

John Christopher, [Tripods Trilogy] "The White Mountains; The City of Gold & Lead; The Pool of Fire"

Blasting through them.  Great to re-visit.

Stuck part way through a Brief History of Seven Killings. I have no idea what's going on at times. It's sort of about Bob Marley but without ever featuring him or mentioning his name.

It's award winning and very smart . An interest in reggae and a basic knowledge of Jamaican slang is helpful. But the chapters in patois might be a bit love-hate and the novelty of that is wearing off at present, hence I'm getting stuck. Marlon James, the author, is an interesting character ( and his interest in sexual politics is writ a large in it as well). Huge music fan, got arrested for stalking Prince.

Just finished Dissolution by C J Sansom. Book one of the Shardlake series. A decent enough read that's got me about to start book two.

I've read all of the Shardlake books, they're all good.

Wow, I remember Tripods being on the telly, late 70s?  I seem to remember they ran out of money and couldn't make the end of the series...

I'm re-reading "Knots" by R.D. Laing.  But it's hard going!  A book of neurotic thinking.  It's exhausting.
