i work in I.T sales and that was less than cost at the time due to AO trying to build a bit of a customer base up with Lenovo. Even at £149 its still a decent deal

Thanks. That is one on my list. I found a link to a potential Dell sale next week, so going to hold out for that, otherwise I will probably get that Lenovo..

Never been a fan of Dell myself , and i suspect from what i have heard AO will put that price up again come 1st of December

Yep. I always give that a quick check before buying off amazon to see the price trend. There's a chrome plugin for it that's very handy

Newspapers across the spectrum will, as usual, be touching themselves with glee at printing the usual faux-outrage bollocks because they've all got a picture of two people punching each other in Argos over a smoothie maker. If you ask me, they're half to blame for stirring it. 

Give it it a couple of years and the whole thing will fizzle out when everybody finally realises that the £150 telly they're so desperate to buy is a) shit, and b) £30 more expensive than it will be in January. 

What does get me is that the cynicism is going to catch some poor sods in the trawler net who are genuinely hard up and just trying to get the Xbox the kids have been mithering them for all year.

Looking at getting an Apogee Jam or similar, but am undecided what to buy.  Will buy an Epiphone Casino before Christmas, not sure if either of those things will be in the Black Friday sales though.

I was at a warehouse for a well known supermarket the other day, and there were a hell of a lot of big TVs in the racking ready for this.

iPhone 7 128gb for me(we won't talk about price on that one )

various toys n stuff picked up in sales from Smyths/Amazon etc (Real FX £29.16 looking forward to that xmas day).... I doubt there will be any BF deals that will better the prices I have paid for stuff.

The only thing I really want is a new Android phone. I've got my eyes on a Oneplus 3 but they're OOS everywhere and possibly discontinued in favour of the more expensive 3T so I may buy something like a Nexus 6P if I can get a good deal.

Serious question: do any guitar shops participate? I might drop over a couple of grand on a custom shop Strat.... Would the likes of Andertons, coda etc join in with reductions on those kind of top end instruments?

 @rsvmark ; From memory, they all join in - possibly not on a CS Strat though.  Worth keeping an eye on anyway.  Follow them on Facebook, they tend to batter their promotions there first.

The big thing last year was all the 2015 Gibsons being sold on Amazon for about 27p each, then people complaining that the corner of the shipping box was dented and Amazon sending replacements without asking for the original one back.

As for the proper guitar shops, I think they had some deals but I don't remember any really massive reductions on top-end gear.
