well nearly a month on and still loving this guitar, it surprises me all the time how much more comfortable it is to play than the custom 24 and the jangle is very addictive.

can you remove the scratch plate, or is it used for PUPs and bits like a strat?

The plate is used like a strat/tele. Bridge is mounted as is the neck.

that frost green PRS is about the only PRS I've ever fancied.

I have an S2 Vela. Mine is boring wood colour BUT that is its unique selling point. The offset body shape makes it hang nicely on a strap. It is sometimes difficult to believe that the stock pickups are made in Korea by G&B. They suit the guitar perfectly.

They still make em. It was a ltd Ed at the time I bought mine but now it’s a colour for 2019

Mine is satin black. Very nice. Though I agree the reclaimed wood ones look sweet.

I just acquired a Vela, what a cracking guitar. Not really a PRS fan, not into bling, owned a McCarty in the past but didn’t gel, but this is a PRS right up my street. It’s just feels very cohesively designed, and despite my fear of Far Eastern hardware and pickups on a US guitars, I don’t feel the need to change a thing.

They are in my opinion one of the best new guitar models to come to market for many a year.

I think they look great, the offset body looks much cooler than a standard PRS. Do the bodies feel massive though in the same way an offset Fender does?

It’s pretty dinky, next to my Strat it’s way shorter overall but sat on the lap doesn’t feel dissimilar.

They are both light and compact.  Nothing like a Jazzmaster as they feel designed to be comfortable and easy to handle.

Cool, must just be the way they look! I thought the bottom curve was extended out but just read in a review that they designed it by taking a Custom body and sliding the top half along a bit. Now I want one :)
