Pay a company to pack your stuff and move it. You will not regret it.

Good luck with the move Tony, exciting times. We haven't moved for over 13 years, and are likely to in the next one or two years, and I have mixed feelings about that.

When we moved, I moved all my stuff (guitars and hifi) on my own, personally.

They're packing anything "breakable" so that it's covered under their insurance.  Anything else, we're packing (and have already packed a lot of it).  And they are *definitely* moving it!
Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.

I was very sceptical about it but someone I trusted recommended it. The two removal guys arrived a day before removal and packed everything apart from my musical instruments, and they packed it very fast and very efficiently, labelled and protected.  I gave them and the rest of the crew a big tip each because it was a completely stress free move.

We had the kitchen, main bedroom and living room completely unpacked on removal day!

£20 notes.  One for each of the removal chaps.  Best of luck!

I have a top post-move tip; remember when you're going home that home has moved. Turning up at your old house is considered a bit weird.

Not for me. My old house is a pub, and my folks own it.

Plan your evening meal in advance.
You''ll be far too tired for food prep on the day, and nothing will be in place.

Either something ready from the microwave, or check the local takeaway menus and delivery.
