I tell you, this is really getting to me.

I e-mailed Fender this morning in an effort to get an endorsement deal. I'm not after much - just a spare '56 Relic Strat, a Princeton and a couple of DRRIs for if I decide to start gigging again.

I've submitted several manuscripts of my auto-biography to a number of publishers - and offered to design Jaguar Landrover's interiors.

So far I've been rejected on every count.

If this isn't blatant discrimination against an unknown, fat, balding middle-aged bloke from Manchester, I don't know what is....

    Here's a paradox.
Jaguar Land Rover have a VIP Lease scheme.

If you are a minor celeb (e.g. James Caan) you can lease a top of the range RR Sport for c. £250 per month.

Now, why do they give this discount to those most able to afford it?
I wouldn't call James Caan a minor celeb .. he's a big cheese in Hollywood and still makes films .. Nazim Khan on the other hand ... ;-)

Maybe @Gassage meant this fellow off Dragons Den

  • To be honest coming from that kind of wealth and access to educatino / opportunities etc that the Bechams have it's in a way less surprising to hear that the kid is succesful. I mean how dumb woud you have to be to fail after that kind of advantage?
Not just dumb, Carole Thatcher dumb

NEPOTISM .........The whole world accepts it as a fact of life .Most of us accept the biggest celebrity family and biggest Nepotists in this country because we have been conditioned to do so for generations .....they used to call it the Divine Right of Kings but most people know them as The Windsors although that is only an alias for Saxe-Coburg- Gotha .
Celebrity product placements, endorsements etc exist because humans are similar to sheep and identify with having something or someone to aspire to .........Religion works on similar principles.
The general principle has just become more dumbed -down and the masses identify more easily with the likes of Kardashian ,
Katie Price ,Beckham and even Joey Essex for that matter.
John Mayer Stratocaster or Slash Les Paul .............................We suck it up !

The only thing that winds me up is the BBC paying Jo Willey £800,000 a year for playing records....no wonder she always sounds deliriously happy...Then they say 'well you have to pay the going rate for talent'...ill get back in my box now  :/

I e-mailed the Beeb and offered to do it for less.

I got a 'no' from them as well....

thats your first mistake, you should have offered to do it for MORE, then it shows them you are better.

  • F*ck Brooklyn Beckham. I wouldn't swap places with him for all the biscuits in the box.

He's like that childhood emperor in that film I can't remember the name of....... utterly detached from reality and unable to grasp the true value of friendships, experience or material goods.

He'll never know the simple pleasure of dragging himself out of bed on a cold, wet and grey Tuesday morning, stumbling into the shower that needs cleaning, before waiting for the bus in the freezing wind to take you to a job you despise, that makes others richer whilst you struggle to pay your bills, all so you can make the next payment on the new pro series Tele you got on credit but has now already been replaced as the object of affection by the custom shop tele your saw at NAMM......

    wait......

I want to be Brooklyn Beckham

I guess they didn't see the video everyone else did?
I've not seen it, but at a guess it involves shagging.

I would suggest that most women in business and women authors have shagged, and most probably enjoyed it. That's really not unusual or weird.
Clearly you have not seen it.
From what I remember she definitely didn't seem to be enjoying it :)

    I did say I hadn't seen it.

However, I stand by the "most" comment. ;)

Absolutely true; I have been approached by a pedal manufacturers, a huge one, offering me artists rates and testers on Facebook, if I post pics of my board/rig with it.

I can't possibly tell you who it was but I told them I already have one of their rehoused delays in my rig.

JC: Founded Alexander Mann. Invented 'Search and Selection' rather than recruitment or headhunting.

    Made about £90m.

Decent bloke but Aisha, his wife....well she describes herself as a struggling modern artist specialising in the humanistic interprettion of Islam.
