I think it might depend on how quickly you get through them, too.

I happen to know it's fairly inaccurate, though; I took the real test back in my early 20s and got 158...and there's any change, I don't believe it's a positive one

Yep, same here. I went through it a second time (answers memorised) and got an even higher score.

i'm smart & cynical, therefore i strongly suspect those sites seeking to attract most visitors (to maximise click revenue) will be those sites which score people highest.

I'm not taking the piss, but there aren't so many people up there in the world. It makes me laff how many people do rubbish tests on Farcebook and then actually think they mean something. 

I'd be up for doing a mensa test, but not any old micky mouse online one. I have a high IQ according to mensa, but I wasn't interested in joining.

I did a mensa test and got 155, but then you have to go and repeat it under exam conditions and I never bothered.  It seemed quite expensive and also a bit daft to try and join a clever club.  I prefer to surround myself with dumbasses so I feel clever.   Hence why I enjoy flat earth threads

I don't know if it actually happens this way but can you imagine the sheer horror of Mensa club meetings. Dozens of insufferably smug people in a room, being clever at each other.

I legitimately have an iq high enough to be I mensa. We spoke when I was in high school about it all, but I liked guitars more.

Also, all these tests give very high scores so people think they are super smart and share their 'iq' with friends, causing more traffic.

141.  It annoys me how much I struggle with the numerical sequence questions, I feel like they should just jump out at me... but they don't.
