Wow. 
What a feat of engineering! Beautiful design & form following function. 
So what's your favourite machine?

Nimrod, it's got a special place in my heart as it was a nearly 70 year old airframe when it was eventually retired. Not that it mattered as it was one of a kind till the very end.

The McDonnel Douglas F-4 Phantom 2. Partly because I grew up under the flight path into RAF Alconbury, partly because it's got such an aggressive, "don't fuck with me" look. Partly because it's just an awesome aircraft, which could do any and every job a military aircraft is needed to do (obviously barring heavy haulage). And the sheer power from the J79's (Rolls Royce Spey's in RAF/RN aircraft) and the characteristic scream from the blown control surfaces.

It was, and I'm a huge fan of the thunderbird 2 esque looks of the Victor too!

Class 55 Deltic. The noise and presence of one of these roaring through Darlington train station to a 5 year old kid was unreal.

With names like 'The Fife and the Forfar Yeomanry', 'The Black Watch', 'The Durham Light Infantry' and 'The King's Own Light Infantry', they left a lasting impression.
