Roger Dean played as a second guitar player to Albert Lee in a band in the 1960s and Albert Lee played second guitar in Eric Clapton's band.

Close but no cigar yet !

They've all played with the same guy.

They've played with each other - all three on the same stage?

Eric Clapton replaced Roger Dean in the Bluesbreakers, Roger Dean replaced Albert Lee in Country Fever. Did Albert Lee replace Eric in anything? Doesn't seem quite enough for a connection… or is it?

Is it anything to do with orchestras? I suspect ICBM's there or thereabouts, but...

Pretty much it really, I talked to Roger before he died about replacing Albert and he was on about Clapton replacing him etc

    Good shout ICBM.

Did both Clapton and Albert Lee play with Delaney & Bonnie? I can't remember.

Anyway, if it's my turn again…

    Alexander The Great
    Demis Roussos
    Carl Sagan
    Donna Summer

I'm sensing another Billy Joel reference?

Or is it that they were all big in Greece?

Demis Roussos was certainly big in Greece :).

    But no.

Maybe I'm making these too difficult? It seemed quite obvious to me like the last one!

Clue: the correct chronological order has Alexander last, not first. The other three are as listed.

    The connection is musical.

    Ta da!

Roussos and Vangelis were both in Aphrodite's Child.
Vangelis' 'Heaven And Hell Pt 1' was the theme music for Sagan's Cosmos series
Donna Summer had a hit with 'State Of Independence', originally by Jon & Vangelis
and he did the soundtrack for Oliver Stone's 'Alexander'.

    Your turn :).
