And for early retirement purposes, Yesterday.
Purple Rain. Just because.
Even if no one else liked them....
Im glad I didnt write any of my favourite songs as no fucker would have got to hear them....
But to play the game some songs start and yeah, I could have done that.
One - U2
UnDer the Bridge - RHCP
School - Nirvana
Any of The Stones Open G juggernaughts
some of them I have written subconsciously then cried when I realised they'd already been written....

Both from the latest album, Book of Souls.
Speed of light is one of the most creative fast rock / metal songs I've ever heard. The format may sound simple on the surface but as it moves through the song the playing becomes more and more,..........well just more ! It's incredible.
The Red and the Black is a heavier song and has much more to it at 13:34 minutes. The hook line is catchy and the guitar work is just non stop. I really wish i could be part of something creative like that. I can't write lyrics to save my life but i can write riffs and songs and to work with someone like Dave Murray or Adrian Smith would have been a dream come true - still would be !
I just think it is a wonderfully crafted song. I like the subtlety, and ambiguity of the title. It's not "I LOVE YOU!" or even "I love you and you don't love me!"...and it is all the more powerful for that.
There are more, of course.
The Few by Billy Bragg is a song I'd love to be clever enough to have written. (http://songmeanings.com/songs/view/3530822107858519424/)
I'd also love to be able to capture a moment in time as perfectly as God Save The Queen by the Pistols too.
Ah, there are loads more...I am keenly envious of great songwriters. Or any kind of songwriter, to be honest. Only ever written one song in my life - the one I wrote my other half to propose to her, which did the trick and went down very well...Am a bit loathed to risk breaking my 100% strike rate by writing another song!
Pink Floyd - Money. No explanation required.
Twisted Imaginings - A Horror And Gore Themed Blog http://bit.ly/2DF1NYi
Psychosocial- Slipknot
i wish it could be christmas every day -Wizzard
For pure musicianship, I think I'd have to add Stay by David Bowie as being one of the most brilliantly executed funk rock tracks ever....
Of course it helped that he had the astonishingly talented D.A.M. powerhouse rhythm section for the album but hey........

Those three songs really do cover every single possible activity in Midwest America, don't they?

Beautiful song, and with it being rinsed on various ad's / TV shows I'd have a little nest egg too.

Apparently Mark Ker-Nopfler also once confided (to Snowy White) that he wished he'd written Brothers In Arms too.
