If you’re looking at Coda, it’s then down to pickups. Fat 60s are very decent pickups, but the anchos are a very expensive option and in my view, the best pickups Fender has made. My anchos have been maple and the slab rosewood will darken the sound, but they do everything from chimney neck to an almost tele like hot bridge. Those pickups would make my choice easy.
Fully prepared to send back if they don't play well.
A little concerned about the protone one for the afore mentioned reason but the guy in the shop I spoke to said he would knock a few quid off and seemed nice.
I'm mainly concerned that I don't know the various options for custom shop guitars that well so I would struggle to say if any were particularly expensive/good deal.
Anyone with any insight into that?
Also if anyone near London has similar they want to sell I'd be interested.
3) made me go "ooh" but it might be because the colour surprised me after two red ones
They're nice, but I think each would be improved by a white or mint pickguard.
Is the matching headstock really off putting? Would it be an issue later if I wanted to move the guitar on?
