I have to keep reminding myself that this is a bunch of people who have never played together before, never practised together before, and - in most cases - never even met before. Just turn up, meet, get into the studio, plug in and play.
Wow.
drummers have feelings too........ ;-)

At least, that's the excuse explanation I always give.

Oh, you pretty much were.
Seriously though, it's a repeated theme across all of these sessions that I've attended. The capability of people who've really not played together before to just turn up and play their different parts in some reasonably not-simple songs continues to amaze me.
My reference point is the 12+ mths of "practice" every fortnight that it took me, a drummer and a bassist to get to a level of proficiency that we felt able to perform half a dozen simple songs in front of friends and neighbours. Hours of practice - and we weren't as good as what's being played here.
And it's not because the players here are all hugely experienced at playing in a (different) band environment before turning up - because they're often not.
It's incredible to see - but even more incredible to experience.
At the jams I get to play with covers-experts with pub-hardened experience like @vasselmeyer and specialists in all sorts of styles of music.
For me - the mix brings with it a totally different dimension and the fusion of experience leads to some moments of pure magic on the day.
