    It's pretty clear which room the sound is loudest. In terms of what it sounds like....just imagine the most annoying tortuous noise known to man. It's worse than that.

    I think I know what it might be... 
    I had an old casio watch, probably from the 80s. The screen was off and I assumed it was long dead, but every so often it would make a chirping sound. 

    I can't remember whether it was every 32 seconds... But I'd get up in the ceiling, take that fan apart and look for a casio watch that a mouse has dragged under the floorboards!
