Mine was Bjorn Borg. My mum always had Tennis and Cricket on TV, and I was generally a fan of long haired sports stars. He just seemed so cool and awesome, and I loved watching him win Wimbledon every year. John McEnroe seemed like a complete turd of a human being and I loved to see him getting his ass owned.
The year John finally won - what a disaster! I was absolutely gutted! I didn't watch tennis again for years.
As it happens, I really like John as a pundit now, and the same for Jeff Tarango, another spoiled brat of a player back in the 80s.
