Neither lard nor spinach has enough of the other nutrients needed. Somewhat pointless debate.

You'd die from a deficency of something no matter how many calories you ate of either.
The only single food substance I think you can live off in total is the banana.
Sort of - except the amount of potassium in bananas means it can cause kidney failure if you have 3 a day, every day.

People on dialysis are often banned from eating them at all.
What about Freely the Banana Girl?

  • I don't own any scales so don't know what I weigh. It's not loads though, I just fancy losing some of the gut. So, today;

    Breakfast: A banana

11's': Cheese pasty! (not good, I know)

Lunch: 2 small vege samosas with carrot , red pepper and celery slices

Dinner: Half a small cheese and onion quiche with potato salad. Dessert, another banana

I also re-started the "get on and off the bus to work a stop later/ earlier" which adds about 2 miles walk to each day, and used the stairs in work instead of the lift.

The usual 4000 metres done on the rower and circuit of weights tonight.

I also got myself weighed whilst at the gym  - 78.8kg.

    That's about 12st 4lb so I'm lighter than I thought.

I'm not looking to go under 12st so down to a 30 waist is my goal.

Out of curiosity how tall/what sort of build are you? 30inch waist sounds very small in relation to weighing a healthy 12st or thereabouts.

A bit late but my Day 1.....

Breakfast was porridge and toast, lunch was wholemeal pasta with homemade sauce for the extra veg and dinner was scrambled eggs.

Exercise was 10k steps plus Day 1 of a Full Body fitness workout. It's a home workout as I can't afford gym membership right now.

    So far so good :)

    I'm a short arse - 5' 9"!

Build wise medium/15.5"collar. I carry a bit of muscle I guess and haven't got skinny legs like some blokes.

Looking at the pic below that was posted on the other thread - me and the Mrs agreed I'm between 25 and 20% - nearer 20%.

    Day 2 at chez TheBlueWolf....

    Breakfast - porridge and toast

    Lunch - Ham sammich

Dinner - Spag Bol with homemade sauce and wholemeal pasta

I really need a water habit, so I'm making sure I get at least 2 litres a day as of now. Although I'm reluctant to workout first thing in the morning I feel great after :)

  • So, bad week here - not for food, but in general. I won't go into detail, but my diet is off for a few days. I'll rejoin when the dust has settled but for now it's stress central.

  • 3 mile walk first thing (not that impressive I know but I am recovering from a broken tibia, torn posterior cruciate ligament and a DVT ), no breakfast, tuna and pitta bread for lunch, upper body weights and a stir fry for tea with lost of chicken and veg and less rice than normal.  And a few bits of the wife's easter egg but probably less than 25 grams...might have some greek yohurt and frozen berries later if I feel hungry

  • Basically ate the same as yesterday, but crucially didn't have the cheese pasty, so it was basically bananas and vegetables > Progress. Didn't even really miss the pasty. Did more walking again.

Now I need to start seriously looking at the beers!
