Right, Im off to see the Cadillac Three tomorrow, then buying some drums on Saturday morning (yay!).

So when I get back to this on Saturday evening I'll be sticking up the final informal jam song list. If you lot haven't agreed two more songs I'll be sticking Rolf Harris - "Two little boys" and "The birdie song" on the f'ing list!

Looks like Im playing drums for most of the jam - so I just need a bit of time to get the tracks worked out - I'm currently learning 10 songs (and Im not @Octatonic quality!) so the last two might be a bit of a car crash if I don't get enough time to work on them!

    Karma......

Oh and I forgot to mention the cost - its £74 to hire the two rooms for four hours - so it will be about £6ish each (£1.50 per hour - bargain!) assuming we get most people turning up on the day. Please settle up with me on the day (unless you want to paypal in advance) as I think I have to pay at the end. Cheers.

Any funds (or gear) left at the end will go to the fretboard coffers.

  • @mrkb , apologies for the delay, yes i'm coming, put me in on Champagne and Alive, will also attempt vocals on Alive and Fortunate Son
I can bring either a Blackstar Artist 15 or a Katana 50 (or both)

thanks @adampeter - have updated the song list - so it now lookswe have every instrument covered for all the main songs - excellent!

Equipment wise the Blackstar Artist 15 would be useful - and it would be revisiting its spiritual home of Northampton! @darthed1981 is bringing a Katana 50 - so theres no need for us to have two of them unless you want to use it in the second room.

  • Remember it's cash only there (unless he has finally got a card machine?)
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

Yes, I was assuming it would be cash - that’s how I paid last time. That’s why I’d prefer to get cash off people on the day rather than PayPal in advance. I hope people don’t turn up with £50 notes expecting change ;-)

Thought it might be helpful to collect together all suggestions made so far for additional jam songs (we need to agree two):
    Can't Get Enough
    Doctor Doctor
    Highway to Hell
    Hunting High & Low
Rock n' Roll Ain't Noise Pollution
    Wishing Well

Thanks @Brocco. Hunting high and low was my joke response to your A-ha comment - wasn’t a serious suggestion! But it shows the issue I’ve had keeping track - I’m never sure if they are people’s definite requests or song name Tourette s!

...and there's the daft, childish game theme for the day right there.

    'Song Name Tourettes'......

Alnico - "Bat out of Hell"
Bridgehouse - "I *Will* Kill him if he's serious!!"
    :)

Trying some different suggestions for the two additional jam songs we need to agree on - how about Rosalie (track 5 on Lizzy's Greatest Hits), Hard To Handle, Stay With Me or When Love Comes To Town?.

Hey @Brocco - thanks - you seem to be the only one helping me out with this. I quite like your "Stay with Me" suggestion - loads of opportunity to riff along with that - do you know the chords?

Which other one do you want to add?
