just got hold of an old tailpiece for a new project

Its a Harmony design from the 30's, its identical to the one of my 1937 regal resonator.  

its going to go on a thinline acoustic/electric hybrid with a bit of a vintage vibe mixed with a few modern features

well, things have been slow for a while due to trying to sell our house.   We had a viewing xmas eve, on offer on the 27th and i have just made an offer on a house that has been accepted.   if all goes to plan i could be setting up a new workshop soon

This is the 'garden' on the house we are most likely buying.  I wonder if anyone can spot what attracted me to this property

so the workshop clearout continues ready for the move in a month or two (fingers crossed)

I had a few old guitars i was not sure what to do with, either ones i was never happy with or ones that have had one mod too many.. they have already followed me through 2 workshop changes and i don't want to take them any further, nor do i want to release them to world.

may have a fire later, or if i am sensible i may process them into pen blanks and sell them to a wood turner, but really I want a fire

Also, now the purchase of above property and workshop is back on we revisited with a tape measure.   Its 8x3m all in... currently split into a main section which is 6.5m long and a small office on the back.

well, I finally have a moving day.... its tomorrow.

then i get to spend some time setting up the new workshop which is quite an exciting prospect.  The plan is to finish off a few of the long running projects before starting all fresh with lots of new ideas

All moved in on friday, the day went very smoothly.  We got keys at 10am and our buyer popper round to say she was going on holiday for a week so not to rush

 

more pics of the garage, I think I am going to use this opportunity to paint it all out before moving all the workshop stuff in, but with the seperate room at the back with roof storage above I have plenty of space to play with

That looks the business @WezV, I guess you'll have plenty of room now.

Good idea about painting it out before moving your gear in. 

Will you be doing anything with the floor? It looks to be just concrete.

I painted out mine with some concrete paint, stops dusting off and gives a nice surface.

it is painted already, but it could do with another coat.  I will probably put down some anti fatigue mats in a few key areas too

Looks great. Are you planning to put some insulation in while you're at it? Could make winter working a lot more bearable.

I think it will be warmer than the old workshop with a couple of small heaters.   If it gets too cold in winter i will just have to work harder     i don't have the money to insulate it at the moment after the house move  but will probably do it eventually

I have decided to split the main working area with the bench in the middle.   It will give me my main pottering about space down one end with an open space closer to the garage doors for larger tools and growing into.  I didn't want to spread out to fill the space from day one.  It also means i will get to all sides of the main bench a bit easier
