trouble is if you in this forum you prob got a bit on Tinnitus and that affects your balance, so Skateboarding etc is a bit dodgy regardless of your bone density.

Actually it seems to be helping my balance recover after labyrinthitis, I do have a bit of tinnitus too. I've learnt that I need 10 minutes or so to get my balance working before attempting anything tricky though.

  • Found this thread after remembering my skating days when watching some YouTube clips about photography where everyone seems to be on a Onewheel!

can I ask how the skating it going @lovestrat74 ?
as a 41 y/o ex rubbish skater I’m wondering if getting my old Santa Cruz deck out is worth the abuse I will get, so I need some inspiration :-)

Definitely worth it - and I am a few years older than you. In the summer I was always on my board. At one point I was skating down to my local shops, getting some looks, but loving it. Also had a frank Spencer moment in Cornwall where I nearly came off at speed but all in the name of fun - well my wife and kids thought it was funny!

surely is time for Sakteboarding to become an euphemism for summink - like Barebacking etc...

  • I am so chuffed to have found my old board at my mum's place. I might even go so far as to say "i'm stoked'. Its really rather 'rad', perhaps even every so slightly 'sick'.
My 1988 Sims Staab will ride again! I however will most likely end up in hospital or confined to my room by my embarassed son.
Needs a clean up and I may remove the pretentious magazine stickers.

New house I bought has skatepark about 2 mins away.. I drive by it every day and wonder if I'll ever go down there..

Usually has a couple of scooter dweebs there... Proper men ride on 4 wheels!

Ok - I know this is embarassing. Last pics after a New Year destickering and cleaning - complete with 80s angled photos. Check out that 1988 neon.
    Happy NY all!

Spent many hundreds of happy hours on this in the late 70's. Even replaced the wheel bearings a while ago but not brave enough now.

Them ACS 651 trucks were considered 'really' wide back then, but it was them 70mm Red Kryptonics which just rolled forever on the streets. The deck even survived a Cortina Estate running over it, dead center luckily.
