  • New delays are nice.

It seemed to re-set the modelling type to Q 1 for me, and I was using 1.01 previously.  Apart from that I didn't notice anything at home volumes.

    sorted... I'm up at Q01.02..

had a quick noodle with it... I love the new FAS Hot Rod amp.. gorgeous..

and of the new delays, I really love the mono bucket brigade type.. it reminds me a lot of my old JHS delay.. it was shite sounding and that was exactly why it was awesome.. so I reckon all the delays in my presets are going to get swapped out

    Extra 6505+ channel - cool.

Looks like you can still select other Q versions in global... will have to see if I prefer the new one or not.

Apparently better early break-up sounds. That's good, as I think this is one of the very few areas that could do with some improvement. It's easy to get a variety of saturated leads, crunchy rhythms and nice cleans, but getting convincing slightly hairy / just on the edge / pushed / light rock tones is a little more challenging.

  • Had a mega quick go. 1.03 does sound a tad more crunchy (you can switch in global menu). I prefer it through my real cab, felt it was subtle but noticeable on any patch with distortion. The 6505+ rhythm channel sounds great with or without a boost, just depends what you want from it.

    I'm on Q01.03 now..
I noticed that my 'morphed to clean' tones seems to have a little something extra going on..
they seem to feel a little livelier and seem better defined

I have not, but I've heard quite a few cool clips from it. It's not got many models in it, and from a recording at home perspective (which is how I'm looking at everything right now!) I'd be worried by the limitations. But tonally I think it's just as good as the more expensive units, judging from what I've heard.

I think the lack of choice is pretty good for me as my main problem with the Ultra that I borrowed was that I had to work too hard to dial it in and part of that was the number of parameters and models available.

From what I've read generally people seem to think it's better than the POD HD stuff, about on a par with the Axe I, but not quite up to the standard of the Axe II.
