Yes. I bought my R8 from Coda, but got an email saying it was listed in error as was already sold (which I thought was disappointing but fair enough as mistakes obviously can happen). Luckily I heard from them a week later as the guitar had been returned, so I got first refusal on it and bought it. It had a couple of marks (almost invisible) so I got a reasonable discount too! I thought it was nice that they thought to come back to me and offer me a good deal.

Great stuff that. Really good to hear.

I also had one with Coda where the same thing happened - except it didn't get retuned.

Didn't matter in the long run though.

2 58’s and 1 59 I’ve decided to keep the 58 with the plainer top as it plays, sounds better and weight is 8lbs dead.

the 59 I’ve just ordered some SD Bonamassa skinnerburst pickups ( is this wrong ?)

the 58 with the nicer top is now on eBay for sale

What is it about the 59 that you feel is lacking? I find pickup swaps work great when trying to tweak a guitar’s sound in a certain direction, but I don’t find they work so well if you’re trying to completely change the character of the guitar as this is determined by the wood.

I can see 4 of these 2017 R8’s on eBay right now, with at least 3 I think belonging to people here right?

Haven’t bothered looking at any R9’s on there.

Not sure the sound isn’t right to my ear and also silky as it sounds the ageing on the pups looks are shit, very bad job of ageing look like they’ve been dipped in oil
