    You are ALL WRONG.

    You are talking about timbre

When you say 'you', do you actually mean 'we'?

Either that or your bass Di pedals must just be basic eqs :-p

Ah, but DI pedals do affect tone - which is the balance of lows mids and highs for a given note at a given pitch and volume ;)

Do you play riffs instead of motifs or ostinati? Do you use a vibrato effect and call it that? Or tremolo for that matter.
Don’t get me started on tremolo and vibrato......
Please get started on it. It bugs the piss out of me
Me too - but I thought I’d leave it a bit before starting another war ;)

And a valve doesn't change timbre at all eh, or circuitry that introduces a little clipping? I'd just get a flexible eq and be done with it then ;-)

Lol - yes of course you are right :)

I am as guilty as anyone else of the “tone” thing. I guess what annoys me is that it’s become accepted parlance even though technically wrong

I'm sure it won't take too long to go through your posting history and correct the error of your ways in that case :-) :-) :-)

Ever since the O.P. bought a fretless bass, he has started using proper musician words.
