You'd tempt me to part with £50 to play a high quality 50s telecaster, but that's about it.

....... besides, it'd be wasted on me - I can't try out a guitar in a music shop without a.) feeling very self conscious, and b.) not knowing what to play.

With a photographer, a videographer and a whole studio staff watching I'd be like the proverbial rabbit in the headlights.

    Bit of trading feedback here.

Fools are easily parted with money.

    No, I wouldn’t.

Its a guitar, nothing more and nothing less.
That would probably be my attitude as well...

You could buy a great guitar for $1000. That’s just a load of crap. This is my opinion, obviously. I’m sure some wealthy home players may get off on the experience as something to put on their FB Page.

I think this might be for people who enjoy the attention.

No but i do get to play a 58, i didn't get gooey eyed either just compared my guitars to it and came to the conclusion there wasn't enough difference, might surprise some people's thoughts on vintage guitars vs modern though

Nice if you've got the money

If I was paying a grand for a guitar 'experience', I'd be going to Crimson to be taught how to make a lovely instrument myself.

Now that I've looked at the list - thanks for posting - I did actually think gosh, never mind your bursts, a 1958-59 Flying V!

Still wouldn't pay $1,000 though, and I'd pass on the humiliation of the recording and video sessions.

  • Yeah I’m not that excited for the burst either. Either of the acoustics in tier 1 would be interesting and I’d love a go on the Fender basses

    No frikkin way.

I'd rather spend the grand on a guitar to keep and play over and over!

  • Tier one has the best selection for me personally
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

I think it's interesting as an idea, and honestly if it's a landmark holiday like a big birthday - why not? Would be a fun day.

I looked at the list and realised I own all the guitars I want in the list (burst aside, and I've got a good replacement) - so it's not for me, and to be honest I don't think it's for anyone on the forum, there are enough people on here who own some of these instruments and are happy for people to try them.

Come to a couple of jam meet-ups and you might be surprised how many buckets can be ticked off
