So, Just How Much Has Your Pedalboard Cost ?

What's Hot

It's the question we shouldn't ask I guess !

What is the total cost of yours ?

I ask because some of us struggle with GAS, and I've had a huge sell-off in the past 12 months, but still...

This is how much my small board has cost... what about yours ?

£90 - Pedaltrain Metro 24
£160 - Strmon R30 Power Supply plus extension
£300  - Strymon Timeline
£400 - Strymon Big Sky
£100 - Multiswitch
£350 - King Tone Duellist
£250 - FTT Avatar
£211 - ThorpyFX Fat General
£199 - Gigrig OMX 4
£100 - wiring
£40 - Polytune

GRAND TOTAL OF £2200 !!

And that's a SMALL board....

I've been clearing out recently to put money into savings and into a better hobby, and itemised everything with "bought for" and "sale value" costs. So I'm down to:

    Digitech Whammy - £90
    Digitech GSP1101 - £130
Digital Music Corp Ground Control midi controller -£50. But it doesn't work yet as no power supply I possess seems to fit it
So £270 plus a guitar and monitors to complete the set up

That said, it doesn't sound that great...

Everything else is for sale so whilst I still have them they aren't in use so can't count them in this.
Please note my communication is not very good, so please be patient with me

About 2k including cabeling and case. Not so much considering I use it almost daily, even a 10 min practice has me plugging in and using all these pedals. I can’t abide having expensive (or cheap) stuff sat around not being used though, but this lot justify their keep.

Three Strymon pedals at £260 each, Boss looper and tuner, Fuzz and drive £120 each so around £1,150 for a very small home use board!

....plus patch cables. Made my own board for £8 though  :o

  • What would it cost to cut straight to what I have now if I hadn't been "experimenting" for the 20-odd years I've been playing, or what have I spent on pedals and paraphernalia in that time? *that's* the figure I really don't want to think about.

I've "only" got £950-ish invested in my current board(less cables and stuff, so let's call it £1k), none of it bought new, but I've probably spent at least that much just on delay pedals I don't have any more.

Don't talk politics and don't throw stones. Your royal highnesses.

I never have paid over £200 for a single pedal. Just because I don't really see the benefit.

    Current board is around £1400
And includes budget stuff like a fuzzdog diy build, Marshall & EHX pedals. Previous board was nearly half of that.

So I guess what I'm saying I that as we get older it's nice to have nice stuff, and some just go further than others in pursuit of that depending on their means and personal logic.

Eg I paid £1200 for a nice mic & £600 for a preamp but refuse to spend £400 on some Strymon big box.

How did you get a Vibe Machine and a Mini Vent for under £200 each?

    Hof mini £45
    Joyo 6 band EQ £25
    KH wah £80

I imported them from the USA because I’m a tart. I like the way you can choose very precise sizes and connectors without ever having to speak to someone or go through a lengthy email exchange of retirements - and I gave up on solderless a while ago, life’s too short. These don’t work out to expensive even with tax etc. Here’s the link.

    Turbo Rat (LM308) = £65 + diode switch mod + £30
MXR 108 Mini Fuzz (not shown) = £100

    Warp Sound = £80
    Triangle Buff = £45
Bright Onion micro tap = £28

I've built a few fuzz clones so I'm thinking of making another mini board and patching it first in line before this one

edit: I've just realised this isn't nearly as tidy/pretty as the others posted here!  It gets the job/s done though
