First Katana mention of the thread!

Surely a lot of people's default amp at this point for practical reasons if nothing else?
You are the dreamer, and the dream...

  • Used to be Soldano Decatone, had three of those. Last go-to amp before defecting to Fractal was the Bogner Shiva, had 4 of them...
@firepaulmusic do you rate Fractal’s Shiva model and is it still your go to model on Fractal?

Amp I’m most using at the moment is a THD Flexi 50

    Peavey solid-state amps.

I always come back to them eventually... I've owned loads and usually sold them because I thought I wanted/needed/had something better, but in the end I always get another one! Currently a Studio Pro 112, 'red stripe' Transtube series. If I sell this one I can always get another.

I suppose the Mesa Trem-o-verb would probably be the real answer in terms of sound, but I don't own one any more, and probably won't ever again - the weight eventually became difficult to deal with.

I've got a Studio Pro 40 watt, that my mum got me for my 21st birthday (38 years ago). I'll never sell it. It was my main amp for a few years, before I went down the valve route. I use it as a back up now, but it still sounds pretty decent.

    Not the Vibroverb?

That’s high praise for the J20 when you consider the number of holy grail amps Gassage has run through.

Laney Cub10 for me, it does everything I require.

It's a great amp, the best of the THD range iMHO. You can get a wide range of sounds out of it, surprisingly Fendery with the right tubes and settings. You can obviously also get some Marshall style tones out of it.

Shame they don't make 'em anymore.
