Just to add some context to my comment. Should I Stay or Should I go was used on a Levi’s advert. If you were alive in 1991 and owned a TV you’d heard The Clash even if it was unknowingly.
I was alive in 1991 but unless they played Levi's adverts on whatever the equivalent of cbeebies was I doubt I'd have heard it :)
Please note my communication is not very good, so please be patient with me

  • Rival Sons sound like they've heard a LOT of Free albums.

Greta Van Fleet are almost parodically like Led Zeppelin.

Robert Plant thinks so too, I think he's self aware enough to appreciate the irony.

Steel Panther knowingly parody 80s bands.

Thing is, I LIKE these bands. Having listened to Led Zeppelin etc constantly since I was a kid, hearing another album that sounds like them, but has new songs isn't necessarily a bad thing.

    I actually liked that :).

Even more than Greta Van Fleet, they seem like a tribute band who play their own songs - is that even a category yet?

I tend to rip off Clutch and Down to a hellish extent in my own music.

I don't get it. They look pretty original to me. His 'tache doesn't even meet up to his sideboards or anything ;-)
