    Or is that high?
This is what I usually play:

The grain and staining on that is superb.

Forgive my ignorance - but who actually makes/made  those ?

Same as @skunkwerx, I'm a metal player, but I have an American Telecaster Deluxe, because it's just a fucking lovely guitar to play.

Guess you could also consider my custom-built Dennison to be an out-of-character selection too, as all my other guitars are big name instruments that I would easily get more for than I paid if I sold them on, while anything custom made is unlikely to ever get its money back if sold on.

  • I hate Strats, Strat players except for Jimi are all boring, they are the old mans pub rock blues snooze machine, the Toyota Corolla of guitars, they sound too thin, the volume pot's in the wrong place.

    I have 2

    But it's a secret

Same as a couple of others...mostly a metal/rock player, but I have a Tele. It is an old Japanese one though, with a locking trem, humbucker and 2 single coils  =)

Part of me wants a bright pink RG, I can't stand floyd roses (well I have a fear of spending a week restringing  one). And everything else is strung with 11s, just want an RG....you know because. Those 20 minutes a year when I widdle like Steve Vai missing five fingers
I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.

Nearly all of my "collection" is pretty conservative stuff - Gibson, Fender, Gibson and Fender copies, PRS.  Nothing pointy, nothing with a Floyd Rose (except a terrible old self-build which I put together in about 1989 and was never really playable).

But I have a BC Rich Mockingbird, I guess that's the black sheep.

  • Wouldn't say its a black sheep more "least used" but it was probably my Les Paul Junior. The single P90 pickup isn't really versatile apart from straight up punk!

I have a pre-production Peavey T60. Some don't like them (too heavy, skinny neck, Peavey etc...) but I've had 4 over the years and love them. Just down to this one now

    What is that oddity?
I like (most of) it as it happens -- I have a Breadwinner copy -- I think I'd need a headstock though.  Really just for aesthetics I guess, except it would have to have the machine heads too or it would be non-functional.  And for me non-functional is a greater sin than the missing headstock.

  • I don’t really have a black sheep unless you count the Harley Benton CST24T.

There’s also this classic I recently picked up an original and pretty low numbered JS1

Yeah it’s John Robson. That’s reminds me I’ve got to ring him to get some brush up lessons
