Those little Black Cat bangers and playing the game of inserting them into fresh dog turds, lighting them and playing the game of chicken to see which one of us would be the last to flee.

I don't miss cleaning dog chod out of my ears though.

Not that i miss them but you never see men smoking pipes anymore.

If you count hipsters as men, they smoke pipes, usually long curved ones.

Who remember the old rotary telephones where you turn that plastic ring all the way to the end, wait for it to go back with that sound and turn again?

I liked the sound and the satisfaction.

I always thought it would be fun to have this as an option on a mobile phone

Re Spangles...   My dear late mum used to work in Mars in her youth - on the Spangles line.  Her job was to separate individual Spangles that had stuck to each other on a conveyor belt, using a wooden baton thing.  For 8 hours a shift.

I worked at Smiths Crisp on the Chilli crisp production line. My job was to look out for crisp with black bits in them and remove the offenders before the crisp were bagged
I did that for 8 hours a shift, dreaming of moving up to a more exciting job with prospects like multipack cardboard box maker :)

Don't see it at all now, anywhere - In fact a few trees I know and they are just left on the floor

Spent hours lobbing a stick in the air trying to knock a few down from the upper branches of the trees

Tried various tricks of soaking them in vinegar etc - Can't remember if that worked or not

My two boys are 7 and 9, and we still go out collecting conkers - I reckon we had about a carrier-bags'-worth by the end of 2019's conker season :)
There were especially productive trees near the uni in Stirling where Isaac has his swimming lesson, and we adapted a home-made apple picking stick to collect conkers :) Not as much fun as throwing a stick, but gven that the tree was right next to a busy car park.........

Showing your age now with that last sentence - No 7 and 9 year old boy would be bothered about that

To be fair, it was their 44yr old dad, not the 7 and 9 yr old boys, that was concerned ;)

A girl I dated at college had a summer job working on the Pontefract Cake line at a sweet factory. They were allowed to eat as many as they wanted. She ate loads the first day and spent the second day with the raging squits.

I miss the days before cosmetic surgery.
