@tony99 for some reason push ups hurt my left wrist unless I use push up bars. I also seem to fatigue faster with pushups that doesn’t seem to happen on bench?

    Managed another 50 this afternoon.

    That's 100 for the day.

    Well pleased with that.

    My arms hurt though!

push ups use more of your core to stabilise through the whole movement, and you're pretty much pushing the majority of your body weight which would be a pretty tough bench for me

not sure about your wrist though pal

I fight my way through 5 once or twice a day. Really can't do press ups! I don't know what muscles they use, I have more tricep bulk than most people but they ain't doing much!

I'm going to keep going every day for a few months until I can do 6 in a row ...

Try doing them every other day so you get a rest day between so your muscles can recover.

Do them on your knuckles, then your wrist isn't bending.

I have jiu jitsu knuckles so their constantly sore and don’t bend fully. The bars help though.

I think any of us trying to better ourselves instead of just munching our way through boredom has to be a win.

I took a day off from squats and bench.

Today went for a walk and did my 100 squats and a few sets on the bench.

Rested for a few and tried pushups. Managed 18  so some way to go to catch up with the rest of you.

I’m mulling over getting a full lifting platform built in the garden so I can ditch weights from overhead all summer. I’ve got a gazebo covering a makeshift exercise rig on the patio at the moment.

still doing the press ups every other day though

Once this tennis elbow eases I’d definitely give that a try thanks.

I'm doing 1 x 50 every day, some days I'll do that twice (morning / evening).

Still can't get beyond 60 in a single continuous session...but I'm getting old so not too worried.

I do 2 sets of 50, 3 times a day. Try Not to  engage unnecessary muscle groups. Get in a push up position and just start trying to turn off muscles so you know exactly what you need for the specific exercise, most people tire themselves out by tensing their whole body it's like trying to drive with the hand brake on.
