Is that Francis on vocals? Doesn't quite sound like him?
Yeah I was just about to write that. Wouldn't have recognised the vocals

Lead vocals Alan Lancaster according to Wikipedia. Sounds like Quo but not - if all you know is pop era Quo

Ah this sounds more like what I would recognise. It sounds so simple but it's a very muscular sound

This is more like the Quo I know.

The album overall is probably a bit "lighter" than those that preceded it - perhaps start of the transition in the Rockin All OVer the World type stuff

Not so much keyboarding on this album - just a couple of tracks IIRC.  It got a lot more prominent later on

Bob Young was still contributing quite a bit on this - he disappeared not longer after Live came out (on which he played) until the FF reunion tours

This sounds like it would have been a winner live

It's all quite melodic - and not all just 3 chords / 12 bar boogie ...

All at a trantic pace. I listened to.a couple of early albums this afternoon and they were totally different and made a note of a few tracks that I thought were pretty good.
    Down the dustpipe.
    In my chair.
    Umleitung.
and a very passable version of Roadhouse Blues.

I think it's only Rain that made it into the later-years Live set.

PRobably because it was a single, and so recognisable to the later years audience

The irony here is that Alan Lancaster (allegedly) left because he didn't like the softer/slower stuff that Rossi did later with tracks like Marguerita Time.

This is an Alan Lancaster track - wrote & sung.

There's earlier stuff that they did live later on (In My Chair, 4500 Times, Caroline, lots) - but from this album, only Rain, I think ...
