He died not too long ago didn't he (after Rick Parfitt) and I think John Coghlan had left to join someone else leaving just Francis Rossi. I have no idea how the lineup changed over the years beyond those 4 original members.

Coghlan left years ago too - they've been through a fair few drummers over the years.

And yes, Lancaster died.  He was clearly unwell on the reunion tour -  he wasn't very mobile and struggled with some of the vocals.

They've probably spawned more Quo cover bands than any other group has I'd imagine. I know of quite a few.

Well I'm just showing my ignorance I think, but it's not just guitars going dur-du-dur-du-dur-du-dur-du. There's multiple guitar parts, some quite buried in the mix. Not super complex, obviously, but nicely put together. Perhaps that last sentence should have read "[...] than I thought"

And that rhythm guitar sound is so nicely crunchy yet articulate. Do we know what gear they were using at the time?

It was the era of concept albums and a lot of them weren't short though. Genesis, ELP and Yes fregzample
