Well I've started!

Very 80s and yet also very Prince guitar sounds all over Let's Go Crazy. Instantly recognisable.

I don’t think that I’ve heard this all the way through - I know the singles, but not the album tracks.

I know this album very well, so today I'm trying to listen extra carefully, on headphones, which I wouldn't normally do. There's a lot of layers here

That solo at the end of Let’s Go Crazy was ace. Is is well-known which bits are him and which bits are Wendy Melvoin?

I've always loved the outro to The Beautiful Ones. The guitar snaking around behind Prince's incredibly passionate vocal. Just great

Did anyone else actually start at 8 by the way? Bit quiet here at the moment!

Cheers, I looked at the Wiki page for the album, which just said that both played on that track. Didn’t think to look at the page for the song itself.

Mrs C pressed go on Spotify at exactly 8pm… but then did something and we got Fleetwood Mac for a bit. So we’re running a few seconds behind.

I did have a pre-listen earlier in the week, not listened to the album in ages.

He was an incredible creator.

According to Wikipedia (again), Computer Blue was originally a 14 minute epic with multiple sections. I think you can kind of hear that in the album version, despite only being 4 minutes long

Yeah, I didn’t know that song but it has that “suite” feel.

I’d never noticed this but the backing guitars on Darling Nikki have a Money for Nothing sound to them. 

Sort of an, ahem, cocked-wah sound.
