All of us lads just used to call out "Oi - You Wanker Pursey" whenever we saw him...cos he was.
Danny Baker used to drive Sham 69- his stories are great- like the drummer, who'd never been out of UK, putting "Brushed back har' as a 'distinguishing feature' on an immigration form!
*An Official Foo-Approved guitarist since Sept 2023.

When Dad was based at RAF Swinderby (between Lincoln and Newark) the base was close to where Def Leppards drummer (Rick Allen?) lived at the time.
As Dad would have had no idea who he is (or was at the time), he did describe him as "a rockstar drummer who's only got one arm.
That was about 1988.........

Rob Davis of Mud was also a local resident and now lives in Epsom as does the bassist, Ray Stiles.
Francis Rossi of Status Quo used to live up the road in Purley.
Robbie McIntosh (McCartney, The Pretenders, John Mayer) is also from the area (Sutton) and Jon Hiseman (not a guitarist but a drummer) lives in Sutton and has a great studio there.
Newton Faulkner is another county resident but I think Sutton's most famous musical resident was the late, great Harry Secombe
If he tried that in Richmond one of the old dears would beat him senseless with her walking stick.
Ade Edmondson was a long time resident of Richmond and both Gary Moore and Peter Green resided there for a while as well.
He never did get invited in....
