Not cool. It contains elements of PRS (not cool), Floyd (not cool) and Fender Starcaster (cool), so that's two out of three for not cool, and even being black can't save it. Even if the body shape is also partly nicked from a Gretsch Astro-Jet :).

Yamaha make some lovely guitars, but imo they are rarely cool. Perhaps the SG series guitars are cool, but I can't think of anything else.

@meltedbuzzbox You telling me you have never had a 3 saddle Tele that can be intonated properly? :D

    I have had plenty.

Anyway, 'coolness' is not about ability to intonate properly, so you have also clearly missed the point of the thread.

    ;)
I'm not really a fan of teles. They tend to be a bit of an old mans guitar and the slab board styling isnt for me...
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

Liking it is fine, as long as you realise it isn't cool.

He is now a millionaire who continues to dress up as a hobo, which is definitely not cool.

As for the guitar, looks a bit contrived to me. All the regular hobo's with guitars just have one of those cheapo Stagg or Encore strat's or something.

Maybe, but before he was famous and rich and truly hobo, he was the coolest cat around:

Does my Tylerbastar qualify in the coolness stakes ?????

I know I'm very late to this thread, and I'm not putting forward any of my own guitars, but that is the coolest looking Tyler I've ever seen.

I know some people hate the headstock, some people hate the finishes, but on this particular guitar everything looks exactly right.

    Marantz won this thread.

I'd like to say that Ricky basses are ice cold. The tones that Geddy Lee & Mike Rutherford (and Macca) got with them are just great.

Paul McCartney, John Entwistle, Roger Waters, Roger Glover, Geezer Butler, Geddy Lee, Glen Matlock, Bruce Foxton, Cliff Burton and LEMMY can't all be wrong :).

Agreed. Coolest thing Rickenbacker make, IMO.

Well, the 660 in blue is also nice.
