....but yes Ace does indeed have Gibson/Epi sigs and is hardly unsung. Maybe not that popular this side of the Atlantic but still.

I've mentioned a couple of these in other threads but still no real credit given to the following for supreme riffing and jangly shit:

East Bay Ray - the Dead Kennedys

    Gooooooood shout!

Now this might be a controversial one, but what about Devin Townsend? Rightly hailed as a genius musician and songwriter, but his actual chops are less often considered. He's really very, very good. 1:25:

Comes out with some really interesting-sounding stuff due to his exclusive use of open C tuning.

And he plays and sings together to an incredible degree - can do some ridiculous playing while absolutely belting out the words too.

  • x2 for Slim Hamster a very entertaining bloke all round. Big Al Hodge from Cornwall of Leo Sayer band fame amongst many others. Geoff Whitehorn, although he's not exactly 'unsung'.

Nice shout! I know Frank and used to go down to visit him in Innerleithen with my Dad - he makes awesome mental guitars from diseased wood too. My friend Dave Stewart also played with Fish on a few tours and then Camel. Frank's a great player.

Just listened to this and have to say Andy Latimer is one of those unsung guitar players - I know amongst musos he's not but he's sitting behind Beck and Gilmour etc and doing his thing beautifully while they became superstars but although he plays very simply, he wrings emotion and melody out of everything he plays.
And I say this after listening to Animals as Leaders to wake me up then going straight to this lol

Huw Llloyd Langton from Hawkwind was a great player, very tasteful and never sounds like anyone else. I think Dave Brock was a good player too.

As previously mentioned, Nick Mcabe was (is?) great.
