Works fine for me with helix and reaper on my laptop. I did have to go into settings somewhere to get everything routing through helix and to speakers, otherwise YouTube was coming out laptops speakers and stuff.

Oh shit.  it's arrived.  It'll be difficult to go back as I no longer have a pedal or board to my name having sold the lot to buy the s/h helix.  looks nice .  job no 1  4cm recreation of the old board.

Whatever you do don't play the presets!

just start a new patch from scratch, put a spring 63 reverb at the end and a hi lo cut block just before it, set it to 80 and 12

then just toggle through the amp and cab models to get a feel

also make sure that path b doesn't have any signal flowing through it

thanks.  Is there a quick-start guide?  as in - basic operation in 5 minutes?.  I've just downloaded the user's manual, but I've got to do some work and can't play until tonight

Get watching some of Jason Sadites excellent YouTube videos would be my advice... he helped me understand the Helix enormously.

Trying a Laney LFR 1x12 tonight at rehearsal. Tried Powercab so we'll see how this does in comparison!

Let us know your thoughts on the Laney. I'm tempted to try one myself so any feedback on how it copes in a live band scenario would be very helpful.

I'm struggling to get wahs working. I've got one in the chain, the settings look right, it shows the percentage on the screen when I move the controller but the sound doesn't change. Am I missing something here?

No, deffo not bypassed and the mix is set to 100%

Have you assigned it to the expression pedal, and is the expression pedal in the right mode?
