    This has piqued my interest.
    I'm looking for a small-ish 50w modern sounding head...
Some of the sounds in the vid were pretty damn nice.
That form factor with that wattage is an absolute winner for me also.

Like those vertical 2x12's also. Wonder what they're coming loaded with?

Martin Kidd also knew what he was doing at Cornford, so....

Yeah, this is why I'm intrigued by the v40 - 40 watts of fenderish tone apparently, with switchable down to 7, 1.5 and 0.5 watts with one valve.

He knows his onions so I doubt it's awful... But the old Cornford 5w combo was pretty naff sounding!

So is Mr Kidd the new kid on the block at Jet City then?

    Pardon the pun

@Fortheloveofguitar - yep. First one should be in the UK within 10 weeks, apparently.

He has form, though. The first amp he designed for them was going to be made in the UK, called the Earhart and looked like it was based on the MK50 mk II. They only made two prototypes, though, and I still haven't been able to get hold of them (they go for silly money every time they change hands).

It's called the Custom 22 - based on the JCA22H, but completely revoiced according to MK's desires.

There's also going to be a UK Custom Shop, along with transformer upgrades and the like. Interesting times.

I like the sound of this, even though it's not my thing. May have to check one out.
I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.

    Oh shit.

I was literally a few days away from ordering a victory v40 and you throw that at me?!

Wonder what else is in the works...?

A few things. Unfortunately they really are secret.

The last thing I can say - there will be a Custom 50 as well.

  • I always found the Jet city amps to be fizz boxes on a really bad scale.

Hoping he's sorted that out and also the crappy fx loop

You're quite literally the only person I've ever heard say that (and lots of people have heard my Jet City amps).

The Custom 22 is based on the JCA22H, which doesn't have a crappy effects loop.

I had a 50 head a long way back and sent it back with a few hrs.

Was bloody horrible and serious fizz.

maybe it was a case of the old H&K syndrome. Should have turned the presence right down as they sound thin and fizzy too with the presence up higher.

Yes. The presence control is useless unless you have *really* dark speakers - I run all of mine with the presence on 0. If you have the depth mod or the bright mod, however, the presence control suddenly becomes usable.

Yep, agreed.  The giant hairy bloke was also refreshingly engaging and articulate.
