    Same for Jam House. 
    Honestly, people just don't seem to want to know. Struggling for gigs. 
    Really demotivated now - barely even playing guitar.

    Bannermans your best bet is to keep an eye on their Facebook page, they post what they're after and then (presumably) are inundated with PMs. Not really a covers band venue though, unless in the rock/ metal vein?

    I've pretty much given up in Edinburgh
    The pay is terrible and the promoters all use the same bands
    I don't like cliques unless I'm in them. ;)
    I used to be with the Chillis but the won't give my current band the time of day
    with well over 1000 followers on Facebook and a pretty busy calendar for the rest of the year I'm not that bothered
    it would be nice to play locally once in a while though

    It's not a great scene :( Jam House is trying new bands on this Fri thing so worth trying them again Thomas. We are back 3rd June and also playing The Eagle Inn in Tillicoultry this month - weird how some gigs come to you! That was from a guy seeing us at Inchcolm and his band unable to do a date and suggesting us.

    My mate plays with Volts but his other band Superstellar cannot get a gig anywhere - they are brilliant and do Royal Blood, Foos, Nirvana and RATM but hardly anywhere to play. Can hardly get a response from venues. It's a bit "who you know" as Cabicular says.

    You are playing Jam House 3rd June? MIGHT be able to swing that but can't guarantee but your band are on my radar - I literally haven't been out to see a band for months. 

    Yeah... the scene really sucks. The Ship Inn in Musselburgh had us booked July 2nd and in October. We're still on for October but I had to put the July 2nd on hold as I have a family wedding. The guy cancelled our slot and put a function on, instead. So... one gig in October. Really, I'm starting to wonder what the point is. Would be a real pain to go through to Glasgow for gigs all the time and our drummer said it's not that much better a scene. 

    Do we just do free Opium & Binkies gigs for the fun of it? Money's not a major issue (especially when you have 6 people in the band) but we practice a lot and I think we're decent - it sucks :(

    I would be lot of hassle for the money? We have a huge set now (3 hours). But don't think we're shooting for that.

    10:30pm for about an hour, tickets through me :)
