Source Audio Vertigo or Orbital Modulator if you're going to use the Reflex?

Never used one, but it looks to have the stuff you want.

The ehx pulsar I had was better for making people seasick than it was traditional tremolo I remember.

I have a Mooer Trelicopter in the loop of my EH Superego and it sounds pretty cool. I wasn't a fan of it as a standalone trem - for the very reason that it isn't a proper on-off-on-off square wave one (I still maintain that the Boss PN-2 does this best!) - but it works very nicely with the Superego and crucially doesn't use much space.

Don't overlook the Hardwire TR-7 I keep coming back to it as a really versatile tremolo pedal, the vibe is decent but look elsewhere for rotary sounds.

I have a T-Rex Trem pedal, a red one.. Can't remember the model. It has 3 different groupings, and a tap temp switch.

It works, sounds ace, was £75 new from Bax Shop.

    My Mad Doctor Stutter !

It's got flashing eyes and it's for sale !

WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT ? ? ?

    ;)

    Edit:

Mine doesn't have the toggle switch - description from the website:

"The Mad Doctor Stutter is not a square wave tremolo. It is an automatic kill switch machine that cuts the signal at controllable intervals . The -RATE knob controls the speed rate of the ON/OFF switching adjustable from really really slow to super super fast, while the -RATIO control slews the amount of ON vs. OFF. With the -RATIO knob maxed there is less on and more off and gets rad and blippy. Back the -RATIO knob off and it results in more ON signal and less OFF. I have had lots of dudes tell me this is the pedal they have been searching for for years. Oh and what's super awesome is that it has an expression pedal input so you can change the speed rate on the fly making for some very interesting and unique sounds!"

Did I mention it has flashing eyes ?

Empress trem has various waveforms and sounds great. Not sure about that other trickery you're after though.

  • The Tremolessence is a fine pedal, but I've ended up with a Jam The Big Chill. It has two footswitchable speeds plus a chop switch, 3 selectable waveforms & two expression pedal inputs (one for depth and one for speed), & it sounds the business. Well worth a look. I haven't tried it personally but you might want to also investigate the Zvex Sonar.

    boss slicer?
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

I'd recommend all of the following and I think all of them can go into Vox Repeat Percussion territory due to their wave shape modification capabilities:
    • Seymour Duncan Shape Shifter
    • EHX Super Pulsar
    • ZVex Sonar
    • Twin Peak

For something more affordable, however, go for the standard EHX Pulsar.

I bought Nick's Suhr jack Rabbit, and it's a great pedal.  it has a good range of wave shapes and has a useful volume jump if you want/need it.  Built like a tank too.

I don't think it does what Drew is after but I have become quite interested in these, must be one of the commonest pedals on the PG rig run downs.

I had a Super Trem for a while, like all Fulltones I've experienced it's a bit 'meh', and not in a Roger Mayer 'meh, it just works how you want it to' way either...more of a 'meh, that's just meh' kind of way :)

  • Tremolessence seems to fit your criteria and it's on of the best out there.

Might be worth checking out the MWFX Trem?

Drew, it's not maybe as versatile as you'd like but the Monster Effects Swamp Thang is the most droolsome trem ever. The big box one is slightly better. It really is Fender trem in a pedal.
I don't really want Fender trem in a box tbh. I want something that is going to be useful sound-design wise... for making textures rather than apeing classic surf sounds or whatever.

Currently the EQD Hummingbird is winning.
The EHX Super Pulsar ticks all the boxes.
